THE GRANFONDO MATILDICA NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE: THE CHRONOSCALATA ALSO ARRIVES

This year the Granfondo Matildica has decided to do things big, in fact comes the "Cronoscalata di Dante" which will be held on Thursday, June 1st, 2023 in Castelnovo ne’ Monti.

The course of 8.63 kilometers and 470 meters of difference in height will have as a background the Pietra di Bismantova, a rock mass with an unmistakable shape, a place of pride for all the inhabitants of the Apennines and for all the people of Reggio. The starting line will be located at the Ponte di Pianello and the arrival will be at the Eremo della Pietra, also known as the Gate of Purgatory Dantesco given the citation of the Pietra di Bismantova made by Dante Alighieri in his most famous work: the "Divina Commedia". 

Cronoscalata di Dante has been organized by ASD Cooperatori in close collaboration with the Pedal University of Castelnovo ne’ Monti, but this year it will also take on international importance because it will also be valid for the qualifications of the UCI World Championships in chronometer, reserved for amateur categories, which will be held in Glasgow (25% of the competitors in each category will qualify).

All Sports Promotion Entities (US ACLI, CSAIN, AICS, LIBERTAS, CSEN, ACSI, CSI, OPES, UISP and ASI with Bike Card) can participate in the competition, FCI, UCI, AGONISTI in possession of sports medical fitness. The event is also open to all non-members for whom a daily F.C.I. card will be activated at the cost of € 10.00 for the insurance coverage of “civil liability towards third parties” during the event. The participation fee of €30 includes: registration fee, insurance, final refreshment, medical care. The celebratory gadget of the event is not included.

Possibility of a discount if the athlete decides to participate in both the Cronoscalata di Dante (June 1st) and the Granfondo Matildifca (June 4th) at the price of €75. For those who have already registered for the Granfondo Matildica and want to add participation to the climb will be refunded the difference, modalities still to be defined.
