Changes to the route and the climbs of the Matildica

Changes to the routes compared to those previously communicated have been necessary in recent times. These changes are attributable to the deterioration of the road surface that goes from Canossa to Quattro Castella, this has thus prevented to guarantee the safety of the participants in the competition making it necessary to change; the same applies to the return to the city center due to the presence of some construction sites that would not have allowed us to approach the finish line safely, consequently in agreement with the competent authorities we agreed to proceed with the following variations: from Castelnovo ne’ Monti will descend along with the medium route also the long route, up to the town of Cerezzola, along the provincial road 513R, where they will return to divide. The average route will continue according to what has already been communicated through the centers of Ciano d’Enza, San Polo d’Enza, and Quattro Castella; on the contrary, the long route will climb to Trinità as in the last edition, but then continue to Barazzone, Canossa and from here descending along Via dei Castelli to get to the center of Ciano d’Enza where it will again rejoin the medium route.
